So, you want to straighten your curls for a day? Here's some easy do it yourself tips.

Tools you need:
  1. Blow dryer, clips, brush/comb, flat iron or curling iron, smoothing product and thermal protection product.
  2. Wash and condition your hair according to your hair type.
  3. Apply a thermal protection spray such as our It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Spray or Simply Smooth Magic Potion to protect your hair from the heat implements.
  4. Apply a smoothing elixir like our Biomega Behave Smoothing Elixir to smooth and protect the cuticle.
  5. Dry hair with a blow dryer till 80% dry.
  6. Gather up hair into several sections and clip hair on top of your head. You will be drying the bottom layers first and work up.
  7. Follow the brush (with your dryer) down the sections of hair as you straighten each section and be sure to keep the dryer moving.
  8. Take down a new section of hair and proceed as directed above.
  9. Work your way up the layers until all sections are dried and straightened.

To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends under. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air if your hairdryer has this setting. You can use a flat iron with taking small sections like when drying the hair for a polished look. If you want more or a large smooth curl, curl your hair with a curling iron.

Tools:
  • Comb
  • An elastic band
  • Tangle free hair
  • Hairspray

How to create the braid:

1. Divide a small section of hair where you want the braid to start with three even sections.

2. Comb each section smooth.

3. Cross the right hand section under the middle section. The original right hand section is now the middle section.

4. Pull all the sections away from each other to tighten the braid.

5. Cross the left hand section under the middle section. The original left hand section is now the middle section.

6. Tighten the braid again.

7. Using the pointed end of a rat tail comb or your fingers, lift a small section of hair on the right by drawing a line against the scalp from the hairline to the middle of the braid about a half inch to an inch beneath the first braid.  Take smaller or wider sections depending on how you want your braid to look.

8. Add the new section of hair to the existing section on the right and then cross it under the middle section; tighten the braid.

9. Again using the handle of a rat tail comb or your fingers, lift a small section of hair on the left by drawing a line against the scalp from the hairline to the middle of the braid even with the section you just lifted from the right, add this hair to the existing section on the left and then cross it under the middle section.

10. Continue the process alternating right and left sections under the middle section, tightening each braid as you make it, until you reach where you want to end the braid.  Secure the end of the braid with a hair-safe ponytail holder. This style is gorgeous with the remaining hair in a regular braid or in a chignon look on the ends.
